Eu sei que vou te amar

I know I will love you

This is yet another classic song composed by Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes in 1959, having been recorded again by numerous outstanding artists in Brazilian culture, such as Maysa, Sylvia Telles, Agostinho dos Santos, Caetano Veloso, Elza Laranjeira, Ana Carolina, among others.

In 1972, an LP was released with one of the most famous interpretations of the work. In this material, Maria Creuza sings the melody featuring Vinícius de Moraes, who recites his “Sonnet on Fidelity”. The lyrics begin with this beautiful stanza:

“Above all, to my love I’ll be careful
First, and with such care, and always, and with so much
That even when facing the greatest beauty
May he feel more enchanted by my thoughts.”

The work “Eu sei que vou te amar” (“I know I will love you”) also inspired thousands of declarations of love, and a dramaturgical production of the same name that made artist Fernanda Torres win the prize for best actress at the Cannes Film Festival.
